Day of Action 2015

Day of Action is one of the largest volunteer events in York County.  Throughout the day, hundreds of volunteers will participate in over 75 projects at local organizations.  Whether you are a student, parent, senior or workplace employee, Day of Action is a great way to join together with the community, get your hands dirty and show York County your big heart!

The 2015 Day of Action will be held on Friday, June 19th. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of projects, all of which are located in York County. Following the projects, there will be a Volunteer Picnic from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at John Rudy Park featuring free food and giveaways. All volunteers are invited to attend!

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to gather with the community and improve people’s lives!

Hiking Trail Clean Up and Maintenance - afternoon shift

June 19 at 1pm - 4:30pm

Enjoy a day hiking alongside the beautiful Conewago Creek as you clean up sticks from grassy meadow area, remove dead fallen branches from hiking trails, clear brush from near low ropes course, pick up trash, and paint blazes in trees so trails are well marked.

Planting Fun at Cloverfield Apts.

Cloverfield-Kingston House Apartments, at 1500 Rodney Road York, is home to 24 elderly and disabled resident apartments.  The facility has lots of land that could use some colorful low maintenance plants on its grounds.   This project would involve planting various perennials, shrubs, and trees around the outside sitting area, building entrance and parking lot.  Materials to be planted and tools will be supplied; however, if volunteers have anything specific they would like to plant or use to plant it would be appreciated.

Keeping Heathy at Kingston House

Elderly and disabled residents of this 78 unit apartment building, located at 1243 West King Street in West York Borough, use the handrails in the halls to help them negotiate to and from their homes.  Please help us clean these handrails to kill germs and prevent any spread of illness among our elderly and disabled residents.

Exterior Ball Field, Curb Painting and Interior Wall Cleaning

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Although an estimated 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, about 3% actually give blood each year.

Volunteers are needed to make calls to local blood donors to schedule for an upcoming blood drive hosted by 98.5 The Peak. Scripts will be provided.

Guest Counselors at Camp Cann-Edi-On
