Day of Action 2015
Day of Action is one of the largest volunteer events in York County. Throughout the day, hundreds of volunteers will participate in over 75 projects at local organizations. Whether you are a student, parent, senior or workplace employee, Day of Action is a great way to join together with the community, get your hands dirty and show York County your big heart!
The 2015 Day of Action will be held on Friday, June 19th. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of projects, all of which are located in York County. Following the projects, there will be a Volunteer Picnic from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at John Rudy Park featuring free food and giveaways. All volunteers are invited to attend!
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to gather with the community and improve people’s lives!
Volunteers will participate in an educational training session about reducing mosquito concerns and disease issues. Volunteers will then be assigned areas of York City to distribute mosquito prevention door hang tags.
Training session will be held in Council Chambers meeting room at York City Administration Building. Program and instructions will start promptly at 8:30 am.
A minimum of 20 Playful Sidewalk art projects will be added throughout the City of York. Volunteers will support the student artists by helping to paint the artwork onto the sidewalks. This event will have several different location sites throughout the city, therefore an exact location cannot be given. However upon registering for this project you will receive an email with further project details.
