Day of Action 2015
Day of Action is one of the largest volunteer events in York County. Throughout the day, hundreds of volunteers will participate in over 75 projects at local organizations. Whether you are a student, parent, senior or workplace employee, Day of Action is a great way to join together with the community, get your hands dirty and show York County your big heart!
The 2015 Day of Action will be held on Friday, June 19th. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of projects, all of which are located in York County. Following the projects, there will be a Volunteer Picnic from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at John Rudy Park featuring free food and giveaways. All volunteers are invited to attend!
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to gather with the community and improve people’s lives!
This project will included cleaning the interior walls around the Southern Branch YMCA. The exterior portion of this project will be preparing the ball field for summer activities for our Summer Camp programs. The curb painting will occur around the parking lot of the Southern Branch YMCA.
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Although an estimated 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, about 3% actually give blood each year.
Volunteers are needed to make calls to local blood donors to schedule for an upcoming blood drive hosted by 98.5 The Peak. Scripts will be provided.
We are looking for a company to organize a book drive to provide books for our Nurse Family Partnership program and to restock our Book Tree in our kids area at our George Street Office. All children's books are welcome!
We will coordinate a time to pick up the collected items after June 19th.
